Kateley's 1st hair cut

11.7.08 I took Kateley to Aunt Lane for her very first hair cut. She did great!!! Aunt Lane let her pick out a pink comb, then it was time to sit in the big girl chair. I was kinda worried that she may cry, but not kateley! She sat up there like a big girl. Aunt lane even gave her some chewing gum and her bangs in a little baggie when it was all over! She looks so cute with her little short bangs, it was sad for me to see them go since that was the little bit of hair taht she was born with. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Lil Lamb

This year Kateley was a little Lamb for halloween. She would not wear the head to the lamb so you could not really tell what she was supposed to be. But we think she was still cute.

October 15th is National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day

October 15th is National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day in the United States. Each year, over half a million dreams are shattered. Out of 3.3 million born alive, some 30,000 die during the first 28 days. Another 39,000 babies are still born. Miscarriage occurs in fifteen to twenty percent of pregnancies, while ectopic pregnancy occurs in one percent.
More than 25,000 children are stillborn in the United States every year leaving mothers, entire families and communities devastated. Estimates of the rate of occurrence of stillbirth make it at least as common as autism.

Stillbirth is not an intractable problem. Greater research would likely significantly reduce its incidence, but good research requires good data. H.R. 5979: Stillbirth Awareness and Research Act is under consideration by Congress. This proposed bill would standardize stillbirth investigation and diagnosis, thus providing more data for the needed research. Better research means fewer children born still.

On October 15th, remember the thousands of unfinished children lost and the families who remain to grieve them. Honor them by taking action. Let's help pass H.R. 5979.

17 months old

Good morning! Today is Kateley's 17 month old birthday, and as I type she is sitting in the floor coloring on herself with an orange marker. Thank goodness she has not had a bath yet. So anyway~This Saturday we went to uncle Bob's pumpkin patch in Newnan Ga. Not really a pumpkin patch but we had a great time. The day started off kinda rocky as Lee would not listen to the Garmin and we could not find the pumpkin patch. But once we finally got there, we went through the barn and saw all they pretty stuff for sale. Then the petting zoo, Kateley acted a little scared at first but before it was all over she was petting the baby goat. Ms. Jan (owner of the farm) gave us a very interesting lesson on spinning materials to make different kinds of yarn. Then it was time for the hayride. I think we all enjoyed the hayride the most, it took us on a tour of the farm, and we were able to see all the horses;witch Kateley loved. Lets see, after the hayride we walked into the bee barn that was pretty neat to see how the bee s work. After a couple hours at Uncle Bob's we were all tired and hungry so Lee navigated our way over to a great lunch at Bugaboo's steak house! Yumyum. Hope you all have a great Monday! Here are a few pictures of our pumpkin patch trip.
